To make it easy for you to apply for a license plate tax refund, the Local Tax Bureau of Taichung City Government has designed "eTax Taichung" APP, by which you can now claim a refund of overpaid tax online. Simply prepare the relevant documents and a photocopy of bank book and then send them in by fax, mail or the APP that you have downloaded by a smart phone or a tablet computer. The tax refund will be directly remitted to your bank account. It is easy and time saving.

Local Tax Bureau said that if you have scrapped, suspended, cancelled, or sold your vehicle and if you have completed registration of such transactions with the Motor Vehicle Office, or if you are qualified for exemption of license plate tax due to disabilities, you can claim a refund for the overpaid license plate tax by submitting to the Local Tax Bureau your relevant documents and a photocopy of bankbook cover page by fax or email. In response to the popularity of smartphone and tablet PCs, the Local Tax Bureau has developed "eTax Taichung" APP, by which you can upload your photocopied documents to apply for 65 taxation services, including the refund of license plate tax. The overpaid tax will be refunded and remitted to your designated bank account once your documents are audited and found to comply with the requirements. It is an easy, safe and convenient way to apply for tax refunds. People are welcome to make use of it.
