(Taichung) To provide considerate services combined with innovation and technology, the Taichung City Local Tax Bureau launched Taiwan's first "AIM" at its Minquan Branch Office for quicker, safer and more convenient public services.
According to the Local Tax Bureau, in order to better serve tax payers, it spent two years and ten months planning and building the AIM and now with the Natural Person Certificate or National Identification Card checked by service personnel, applicants were able to request the re-issuance of current tax payment slips, House Tax Data Certification, tax payment certification and tax payment statement. Applicants were also able to check use of house tax, land taxes for self-used house and user's license plate tax exemptions for the disadvantaged. The AIM was operated easily as an ATM or guided machine at a convenience store. Within 1 minute, data search and application service will be successfully completed.
The Bureau further explained that the AIM is the first one launched in Taiwan by national wide tax agencies. With limited financial resources, in 2020, the AIM was first set up and operated at the Minquan Branch Office mainly because the Branch Office shared the same office premises with the Jingwu Library. To incorporate with the operating hours at the Library, the AIM, for the convenience of office workers, provided extended services hours until 21:00 from Tuesdays to Sundays and until 17:00 on Sundays. The Bureau especially reminded all tax payers that at non-office hours of the Bureau, applicants for re-issuing tax certification are limited to those with the Natural Person Certificate and for other applicants (except for the change for mailing address), they can be served with the National Identification Card. The public is welcome to use the AIM.
The Bureau said that with the support of Mayor Lu, in 2021, the AIM 2.0 upgrading plan was expected to be carried up to add more application services provided by the AIM (such as the List of Nationwide Personal Property Inquiries and Individual Income Tax Inquiries) and establish machines at all branch offices to expand the service scope for continuous quality and excellent intelligent services.
