Late payment notice sent by enforcement agency may be paid at any of four major convenience stores if the unpaid tax amount is less than NT$30,000.

(Taichung City) Local Tax Bureau of Taichung City Government expresses that, for taxpayers who fail to pay off the tax within 30 days upon expiry of the statutory period, tax collection authorities will refer the case to a precinct of Administrative Enforcement Agency of Ministry of Justice (hereinafter referred to as the enforcement agency). The enforcement agency will send a late payment notices to the taxpayer requesting him/her to arrange the payment within a prescribed period.
The Bureau explains that, to facilitate the payment, taxpayers who receive a late payment notice may -- if the total amount of unpaid tax amount is less than NT$30,000 and the notice is printed with a barcode and is within the payment period -- pay the tax at any of the four major convenience stores (i.e., 7-11, FamilyMart, Hilife and OK) without transaction fee starting from September 16, 2021. Non-cash payment forms (ex., credit card, icashpay and Famipay) are also accepted to save time and effort.
The Bureau would like to remind everyone not to ignore the late payment notices as the enforcement agency can enforce the amount owed by deducting taxpayer’s salary or deposits or seizing assets such as vehicles or real estates. Unawareness could pose threat to the taxpayer’s rights and benefits.
