Taiwan’s First Tax Service Video Center Set Up in Taichung on August 2

Blessed are Taichung citizens. To provide intimate and convenient services, the Local Tax Bureau of Taichung City Government launched Taiwan’s first Tax Services Video Center. A press conference was held on the morning of August 2. Deputy Mayor Tsai Bing-Kun (蔡炳坤), Director-general Tsai Qi-Ming (蔡啟明), and representatives from the Civil Affairs Bureau and Research, Development and Evaluation Commission pushed the button to officially launch the "Love Action Tax Service Net", which will extend service bases to such remote areas as Daan District, Waipu District, Wufeng District, Dadu district, Taiping District, Shenkang District, and Fengyuan District. Our citizens can now go to the nearest service network established by Local Tax Bureau to enjoy the zero-distance, zero-time-lag and zero-gap tax services provided by the video center.

Local Tax Bureau said Taichung becomes a very large city after the merger of county and city, and the existing eight branches are not able to meet the needs of every citizen. Thus, the "Love Action Tax Service Net" is set up to take advantage of mobile applications (APP) software and video equipment to initiatively link up with the district offices, the household registration offices, and the neighborhood chiefs’offices in remote areas to provide 65 video services in three categories, including real-time certificate issuance, on-line application, and taxation inquiry and consultation.

The roving service stations set up by Local Tax Bureau at selected sites in the city will provide tax consulting, certification issuance, applications, and tax propaganda services, while the first-phase video service network will work with the district offices of Dadu District, Heping District, and Taiping District; the household registration offices of West District, Shenkang District, and Fengyuan District; and the neighborhood chiefs’offices of Fong-Gu Li and Won-Fong Li of Wufeng District; the Shin-Kong Li, Xin-Gau Li, and Xin-pin Li of Taiping District; Hai-Chien Li and Din-an Li of Daan District; Liao-Fin Li, Da-Tong Li, and Ma-Ming Li of Waipu District; and Tien-Lung Li of Hoping District. In these 17 neighborhood chiefs’offices where real-time video tax services are provided, our citizens can access to tax advice and certificate application/issuance services. Take Din-an Li of Daan District as an example, residents can handle their tax issues via video equipment at the neighborhood chief’s office, instead of going a long way to the Shalu Branch Office, so that they can save about NT$ 200 for gasoline costs and cut down the time traveling back and forth.

If you have any questions, please call 0800-086969 (toll-free) or 04-22585000 ext. 1 for the call center. We at the Local Tax Bureau are always happy to answer your questions.
