Local Tax Bureau Held Anti-MERS Drill

To prevent the Middle East Respiratory Syndromecoronavirus (MERS-CoV) from spreading, which may disrupt business operations, the Local Tax Bureau (including its 8 branch offices) held an anti-MERS drill on the morning of July 13, 2015. Aiming to strengthen the staff’s resilience capabilities, the drill process was quite rigorous and realistic, said the Local Tax Bureau.

It was assumed that a few employees of Local Tax Bureau were being infected by MERS and business operations were interrupted. Under such a scenario, how should the staff respond, including how to establish an emergency notification procedure? To build up resilience capability of the entire staff, employees from such important management units as tax collection, IT operations, and office protection were deeply involved. To rectify mistakes in the drilling process and preserve the good drill results, an audit and assessment team was formed in a hoped that the drill can serve as a good basis for future infection prevention and control of epidemic.

Local Tax Bureau urges the public to keep personal health by maintaining good hygiene, washing hands frequently, and wearing masks. If you are suspicious of having any MERS symptoms, do not panic but wear masks and do not take any public transport. When in hospital, take the initiative to inform the medical staff of your concern. Wish everyone good health, said the Local Tax Bureau.
