Convenient online calculation of land value increment tax for re-development zones

(Taichung News) According to the Taichung City Local Tax Bureau (LTB), due to a large number of re-development zones in the city, the re-adjustment fee and tax deduction rates must be deducted when calculating the land value increment tax. In order to provide a calculation website that caters to the local development characteristics of the city and to ensure accuracy, the bureau has developed a proprietary re-development zone land value increment tax service on its official website.
The bureau commented that the eTax Portal of the Ministry of Finance and the Land Administration Bureau only offers simple calculation service. In the past, citizens wishing to understand the payable land value increment tax for transferring land in the redevelopment zones must approach the service counter in person to conduct the calculations. Now, they can do so online and obtain the information that they need immediately without having to leave home.
The bureau further stated that citizens intending to calculate the payable land value increment tax for transferring land in the re-development zones in Taichung City may log on to the bureau's website (http://www.tax.taichung.gov.tw) and click on the following buttons: Home/Taxes/Land value increment tax/Tax calculation/5.Land value increment tax calculation (LTB) and following the instructions to enter details including total lot area, current land value, extent of ownership transfer, previous transfer value, previous transfer date, price index, readjustment fee/construction benefit fee, land type and tax deduction rate, etc. to calculate general land, once in a lifetime and one house a lifetime taxes. The public is invited to make use of the simple, convenient and efficient system.
However, the calculated taxes may only be used as a reference, the actual taxes payable stated on the Land Value Increment Tax Bill issued by the local taxation authority will still apply.
For questions related to the operations of the system, please call the LTB's toll-free number 0800-000321 or 04-22585000#1 for the Multi-intelligence Call Center(A++ Station) and our staff will be glad to assist you.
