(Taichung News) Local Tax Bureau, Taichung City Government has established priority care counters at various offices for senior citizens, pregnant women, people with infants or disabilities so that they no longer have to wait! Furthermore, the bureau has also created the Indigenous People’s Corner on its website, providing the first Zhuyin (phonetic symbol) taxation promotional documentation and application form in Taiwan for their convenience.

According to Local Tax Bureau, people visiting the authorities for official business inevitably have to wait in the queue, therefore the bureau has created comfortable waiting and resting areas complete with newspapers, magazines, and a water cooler supplying cold, warm and hot water. Besides making waiting a much more pleasant experience, in order to prevent the physical discomfort of senior citizens, pregnant women, people with infants or disabilities from waiting too long, or unsuccessful application as a result of their children crying or acting up during the waiting process, these special groups will be given priority service.

In addition, in an effort to provide indigenous people with exclusive taxation service and a friendly environment, the bureau has created the “Indigenous People’s Corner” on the “Audience-Specific Navigation” section of the official website, providing “Local Tax Payment Deadline”, Convenient Tax Payment Channel”, “Convenient Service”, and “Consultation Hotline and Address”-related promotional materials in 4 languages (English, Indonesian, Vietnamese, and Thai). Moreover, Zhuyin (phonetic symbols) are added to the promotional materials for the convenience of the indigenous people, and frequently used application forms are also available in Zhuyin version.

Local Tax Bureau further elaborates that, while conducting taxation-related promotions, the 8 branch offices will provide multilingual promotional materials for the convenience of new residents if they wish to look up information or regulations pertaining to taxation.
