If you’ve bought the foreclosed houses, please remember to file the deed tax

(Taichung News)If people won the auction and bought the foreclosed houses from the court, the buyers should have the house ownership from the day of the title transfer documents issued by the court executed. The buyer should fill in the deed tax filing form within 30 days after the title transfer documents issued and attach the copy of the title transfer documents of the real estates with the related documents for certification to file the deed tax to the taxing authority administering the location of the house.

The officer of Tax Bureau explained further, no matter if the house has been registered for ownership in the land office or not, the buyer should file the deed tax to the taxing authority administering the location of the house before deadline when the winner of the auction bought the house from the court. If not, there would be additional 1% of non-reporting surcharge every 3 days after the deadline with the upper limit of the tax payable but not over NT15,000. The tax payers should be aware of the related regulations and avoid the potential surcharges for the overdue tax.
