(Taichung) Taichung City Local Tax Bureau (TCLTB) indicates that in response to Go Green life style, high efficiency and low contamination electric vehicle is promoted for less air pollution. According to the amendment of Article 5 of Vehicle License Tax Act, electric vehicle will be exempted for Vehicle License Tax before 31st December of 2021.

Local Tax Bureau pointed that electric scooters were subject to zero-tax-rate because of its fractional-horsepower motor. However the rated output power is higher with advanced technology. To encourage purchase, electric scooters will be subject to no Vehicle License Tax in the addition of the Act.

The Bureau further indicated that discounted parking fee is applicable to electric vehicles in Taichung City. Apply electric vehicle parking permit at Taichung City Transportation Bureau with vehicle license to be qualified for free curb parking and city parking lot. Save your money and go green!
