“Patchwork Exhibition of Lu Pi-yu” is Now Held at Wenhsin Gallery of Taichung Local Tax Bureau Building

Wenhsin Gallery, Taichung Local Tax Bureau Building (address: 7F., No.99, Sec. 2, Wenxin Rd., Xitun Dist.) is holding the “Patchwork Exhibition of Lu Pi-yu” on January, 2017. The exhibition will be held from January 3rd to 25th daily from 8:00 to 17:00 (besides weekend and national holidays). We welcome citizens who are interested in it to pay a visit.

The bureau stated that Ms. Lu started off from loving, playing and making cloths to now being a teacher at community college teaching patchwork. She has played with cloths every day and made a living out of it. Patchworks are remains of the American wild times when women used outgrown children’s cotton clothes and re-fabricated them into useful items such as quilts due to insufficient resources. Later, it became a kind of artwork that is both practical and appreciative. Patchworks can be applied in all manner of daily life, from coasters for afternoon tea to wall pictures, quilts and throw pillows for household decoration. They can bring a sense of art in one’s household life.

Given the complicated process and their time-consuming work, the completion of each patchwork not only requires the abundant experience of the creator, but also further requires total concentration. All the works that are exhibited are the brainchildren of Ms. Lu and she expects to convey the spectacular world of patchworks with them. We sincerely welcome citizens to visit this exhibition at Wenhsin Gallery when you come for business or during your leisure time and provide the exhibitors with support and encouragement. If you have further questions, please call the free hotline at 0800-086969 or 04-22585000 EXT 1 for the customer service center. We are pleased to provide all sorts of services for you.
