Local Tax Bureau of Taichung City Government reminds taxpayers that the business-use vehicle license plate tax for the second half of 2015 has been levied since October 1, 2015 with a payment period from October 1 until October 31. As October 31 falls on Saturday, the deadline is extended to Monday, November 2 according to law. Taxpayers can pay the tax within the deadline at any financial institution or convenience store that is contracted to collect taxes or pay by using the IC debit cards, demand (savings) deposit accounts, or credit cards via ATM, the Internet, or telephone voice device.

Local Tax Bureau explains further that the tax should be paid within the time limit; otherwise, 1% of fines will be levied on late payment for every 2 days, up to a 15%; an unpaid tax case for over 30 days will be transferred to the relevant branch office of Administrative Enforcement Agency for compulsory execution. A vehicle with unpaid license plate tax, if seized during driving or parking, will be ordered to pay the tax and fined with 100% of the tax payable.

Local Tax Bureau said the license plate tax bill for the jurisdiction of Taichung City has been sent in succession since September 17. Taxpayers please check it out. If it is confirmed that you have not yet received the tax bill, please contact the Local Tax Bureau, its relevant subordinate branch office, or the Motor Vehicle Office for a replacement as soon as possible.
